84-unit Affordable Housing Development Opens In Sunset Park

By Idy Perl

Governor Hochul celebrated the opening of Sunset Ridge, a new 84-unit affordable housing development in Sunset Park, right near Boro Park.

The development is geared specifically for those aged 62 and older and is the first affordable senior housing built in Sunset Park in over 15 years.

The $65 million development includes 26 units for formerly homeless seniors who will receive additional social services, and has a community center space that will house pre-kindergarten classrooms.

“Sunset Ridge is the embodiment of a multi-generational and community-centered development — one that incorporates the neighborhood’s history with the need for growth and sustainability,” Governor Hochul said. “By investing in new mixed-use projects, we are unlocking a future that is more affordable and more livable, opening up new opportunities for communities to thrive.”
