A Warm and Welcoming Kehila in Boro Park: A Glimpse Into the Shul of Ahavas Hatorah
Located
in the heart of Boro Park, a unique Kehila has begun to blossom. With a blend
of geshmaka Yungerleit and dedicated Bala Batim it offers something for
everyone in the Boro Park community. The Kehilla shul located at 1740-52 was
recently renovated to accommodate its oilam. As the Kehilla grows, the shul
continues to make improvements, including adding new Seforim shanks, a new
coffee room and a new coat room. The shul has begun an initiative to create an
Oitzer Haseforim and hopes that in the very near future it will be able to
serve the entire community. The vision of the Kehilla is clear - to transform its
shul into place where the doors are always open to everyone for Torah and
Tefilah.
The
Rov, Horav Yakov Chaim Apter Shlit”a is widely respected across Boro Park, and is
known for his deep commitment to Torah learning, delivering over 20 shiurim
weekly across various shuls. On Shabbos, the Rov speaks at both the Kiddush on
Shabbos day and at Sholosh Seudos, bringing warmth, inspiration, and Torah
wisdom to the crowd.
This
week marks the launch of a new program aimed at engaging the younger
generation. The Uvos Ubnim Program will kick off at 7:15 PM, inviting fathers
and sons to join in Torah learning. To add to the excitement, attendees will
enjoy door prizes, raffles, and, of course, pizza.
With
a welcoming atmosphere and a dedicated leader, this shul is setting a new
standard for what it means to be a vibrant, heimisha Kehila in Boro Park, where
every Mispalel and Loimed grows together in a place that feels like home.
Everyone is invited to join, learn, and grow together.
