AD: DoorDash Donates an Additional $50,000 Worth of Deliveries to Masbia Ahead of the High Holiday Season

New York, NY – The Silicon Valley based delivery giant, DoorDash, granted the Masbia Soup Kitchen Network an additional $50,000 worth of deliveries to help feed the needy during the upcoming High Holiday season.
This year, Masbia plans to distribute close to $1,000,000 worth of food this High Holiday season. A large part of that will be delivered to families in need using DoorDash’s delivery service. Preparations began in the beginning of the summer and some deliveries were already sent out in the last days of August.
“There is always an uptick in demand during holiday seasons. We need to juggle between the everyday dinner, the regular food pantry pick-up, the in-house Yom Tov meals, and the thousands of families who will be getting multiple deliveries throughout the season”, said Alexander Rapaport, Executive Director of Masbia Soup Kitchen Network. “We need all the help we can get.”
“We at Masbia are extremely grateful to DoorDash. They’d already given Masbia a sizable grant for 2023, but we had used it all up mainly with our Passover distribution. So this additional grant will help us during the High Holiday season and hopefully beyond,” added Rapaport.
Throughout the High Holiday season, Masbia plans to distribute approximately 10,000 food packages and serve 28 holiday meals in-house - with the three sites combined, that is a total of 84 Seudahs. Masbia is hoping to be able to pay for all this with a crowd-funding campaign where people can choose exactly which meals they would like to sponsor at which location.
