This morning at 6:30 am, a significant outage struck all of Google's major products, causing crashes of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Classroom, and YouTube.
As frustrated users tried to access their e-mails, Google Docs, Sheets, and other services, error messages continued to appear.
The cause of Google’s crash was not immediately clear, although it appeared to potentially be tied to Google Accounts, as some people reported being able to sign out of Google and use “Incognito Mode” to access some services in the Chrome web browser.
Technology blog TechCrunch reported that similar outages, at around the same time this morning, occurred in other countries around the world.
Just over an hour later, users started reporting that services were loading normally again.
“We will continue to work towards restoring service for the remaining affected users, but no further updates will be provided on the Google Workspace Status Dashboard,” Google posted at 7:52am. “Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are.
