BDE: Mrs. Blima Leah Lieberman, a”h.

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Lieberman at the age of 70, the wife of, ybl”ch, Reb Shaya, a beloved mechaneches and camp head counselor for decades, and remembered fondly by thousands of girls in Boro Park and beyond.

She was born in the aftermath of the great Churban, that first generation of the rebuilding, to Reb Menachem Aaron and Freida (Weiss) Gross—and was already known for his chiyus and energy as a single girl, when she served as an assistant head counselor at Camp Faiga, where she would go on to spend many summers. She would go on to dedicate her life to the campers, to her students, and most of all, to her family

She married Reb Shaya Lieberman, a pillar of the food service industry for many years, and together they built a Torah family which was nurtured by her love and energy.  A son described how, when she experienced chronic back pain—many years ago—she would crawl on the floor, just to be able to play with her children. If she didn’t understand the mishnayos with which she was helping her sons, she picked up the phone to ask someone who did... her dedication to her husband and children was legendary.

She will be sorely missed by an incredibly large circle of friends, family, and admirers whom she touched deeply throughout the decades.

Shiva will take place at the Lieberman home, 1858 58th Street.

Yehi Zichra Baruch.
