BDE: Mrs. Chani Follman, a”h

It is with deep sorrow that we report on the passing of Mrs. Follman, a native Boro Parker, and pillar of the Sea Gate community. She was an untimely 49 years of age.

Mrs. Follman was born in Boro Park 49 years ago to Reb Eli and Miriam Goldman.

She was married to Reb Shmilu Follman, a pillar of chessed, involved in every aspect of the Sea Gate community, and coordinator in Boro Park Shomrim.

Mrs. Follman was known to one and all in the Sea Gate community as an extraordinary ba’alas chessed. There was no cause in which she was not involved—whether she was asked or not. She was the address for anyone in need.

During Hurricane Sandy—which hit Sea Gate particularly hard—she, and ybl”ch, her husband were at the forefront of helping people. In recent years, three of her siblings moved to Sea Gate, and she would co-opt all of them in her chessed activities.

She had experienced health complications in recent weeks, and her passing comes as a shock to her family, her countless friends, the entire Sea Gate community and beyond—all of whom were plunged into grief with her untimely passing.

She was zoche to marry off her youngest child only four months ago.

The levaya will take place at 9:00 tomorrow morning, at Rav Ashkenazi’s Shul in Sea Gate, 3908 Neptune Avenue, where the Follman’s were pillars of that community as well.
