BDE: Mrs. Leah Landau, a"h

We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Toba Leah Landau, a matriarch of a beautiful Torah family from the Boro Park community. She was 86 years of age. 

The nifteres was born in Belgium to her father Reb Shloime Yechezkel Wajsfeld, and her mother, Mrs. Hinde Wajsfeld. Her youth was spent running from the Nazis, from Belgium to France to Switzerland and back to Belgium following the war. The Wajsfeld's arrived in New York in the 1950's, and settled in East New York and later Crown Heights. Her father was an ardent Belzer Chossid, and davened in the Belzer shtieblach. 

The nifteres was married to, ybl"ch, Reb Shmiel Landau, and together they raised a beautiful Torah family. 

She was known never to speak ill of people, and always got along with everyone. She did her best to help whomever she could, and many people depended on her for her gracious and generous assistance.
