We are saddened to inform you of the passing of R’ Yosef Waks, a legend in the world of Hatzolah and chessed. He was 69 years of age, and had been unwell in recent months.

The niftar was known as W23, due to his joining Hatzolah in the early days in Williamsburg.

He was an ardent Klausenberger chosid with a heart of gold who would do a favor for anyone and everyone.

He was a Hatzolah member for many decades, and was one of the first members in Catskills Hatzolah, in the Woodridge area.

For many years, he worked as a bus driver for the Satmar cheder, and here too, he was beloved by the staff and children alike for his dedication to his work.

He became unwell recently, and was niftar on Sunday afternoon.

A message went out over the Hatzolah airways, mourning their beloved and dedicated colleague, and alerting the members—many of whom worked in the trenches of rescue alongside the niftar and came to admire him deeply—about the Levaya this evening.

The Levaya will take at 9:00 this evening at Shomrei Hadas.

Yehi zichro baruch.
