By Yehuda Alter

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Rav Tuvia Horowitz, a son of the previous Shotzer-Shendishover Rebbe, Rav Meir Horowitz, zt”l.

His father arrived in the United States as a child with his own father, Horav Yisrael Dovid zt"l, and the family withstood the nisyonos of America.

Rav Yisroel Dovid zt"l  founded and led the Histadtrus Ha’admorim, a union that helped many Admorim emigrate to America during and after the war.

The niftar lived in Boro Park for many years and was especially close to Rav Gavriel Zinner, shlita and his son reb shimshon and had many friends and acquaintances who loved and respected him.

The niftar endured much suffering in his life, and he nevertheless never complained and always carried a smile as he learned and did chesed. He had an especially close relationship with ybl”ch, his mother, the Shotzer-Shendishiver Rebbetzin, his brother, the Shendishover Rebbe, and his sisters Mrs. Esther Halberstam and Mrs. Chaya Sigall.

Friday, he suffered a heart attack and sadly passed away shortly thereafter.

The niftar leaves behind a son and two daughters who proudly carry forth his legacy.

The levaya will take place at the Shendishiver Beis Medrash on East 4th street, and he will be laid to rest on the chelka of histadrus ha’admorim in Wellwood Cemetery.
