BDE: Rav Yitzchok Elozor Spira, z”l, son of Bluzever Rebbe

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rav Yitzchok Elozor Spira, z”l, the son of the Bluzever Rebbe. He was in his 86 years of age.
The niftar was born in Poland, in one of the camps, and survived the Holocaust as a very young child. He was raised in the shadow of his father, Rebbe Yisroel of Bluzev, zt”l, one of the preeminent leaders of postwar Torah Yiddishkeit.
Together with his father, the Bluzever Rebbe, they alighted to Eretz Yisroel, where he spent years in the shadow of the Gedolim of the holy land. He later enrolled in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas.
Stood at the right hand of his father, and later his brother, the previous Bluzever Rebbe, with great dedication.
He married, tbl”ch, Rebbetzin Dina, the daughter of Rav Nosson Tumim, a distinguished rov in the Bronx. She is today known as Rebbetzin Dinah Spira, a noted Holocaust teacher and historian.
Together, they raised an incredible family of bnei Torah and talmidei chachomim, many of whom have spent their life in Kollel.
All his years, he davened in Bluzev, the shul of his father and brother, zt”l, and was a distinguished and beloved figure there. He was mekadesh sheim Shomayim wherever he went.
The Levaya will take place at 5:00pm at the Bluzhiv Shul 1431 58th Street.
