We are saddened to inform you of the petirah of Reb Menashe Teitelbaum of Boro Park and Miami, the eldest living descendants of the Tzvi Latazadik of Bluzev. He was 96 years of age, and traced his lineage to the great luminaries of the Chassidic world.

The niftar was born in the town of Rzezow, Galicia, where his great-grandfather, the Keren Yeshua of Ribatitch, the son of the Tzvi Latzadik of Bluzev, was the ruv. His father was Rav Hersh Meilech Teitelbaum, and his mother was the daughter of Rebbetzin Chana Halberstam of Bardiyov.

The Halbertam’s came to Boro Park in the early 1920’s, and a young Menashe came to be with his grandparents following WWII, enrolling in Mesivta Torah Vodaath. The rest of his family was not so fortunate, and they all perished in the Holocaust, Hy”d.

R’ Menashe married his eishes Chayil, the former Sarah Goldbaum, and together they established a beautiful Torah family. His son, Rav Tzvi Yosef, is a rov and mekarev in the Washington D.C. area.

The niftar always carried his incredible yichus—which included the Yismach Moshe, the Sar Sholom of Belz, the Ropshitzer ruv, the Bnei Yisaschar, and others—with great pride.

The Levaya will take place this afternoon at Shomrei Hadas at 3:00. Kevurah will be in Eretz Yisroel.

Yehi zichro baruch.
