BDE: Reb Mendel Weichselbaum, z”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Menachem Chaim (Mendel) Weichselbaum, a longtime Boro Park resident. He was 76 years of age. 

He was the son of Reb Chanina Elimelech Weichselbaum who was among the distinguished elder Bluzever chassidim—hailing from a long line of ardent Bluezever chassidim. 

As a bachur, Reb Mendel was the gabbi and hoiz bachur by the previous Bluezever Rebbe Zt”l. 

He was known for his exceptional caliber even as a bachur, and he received semicha from prominent Rabbonim. Reb Mendel was an exceptional baal middos who had a smile for everyone. 

To the end of his life, he was moser nefesh to come to Shul and to Bluzev in particular—even when he wasn’t well, He insisted on coming to Bluzev. 

The niftar leaves behind beautiful Torah generations, with exceptional Bnei Torah among them. 

The levaya will take place this morning at 10:30 at Shomrei Hadas.
