BDE: Reb Mordechai Fishman, z"l

YS GOLD

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Aryeh Mordechai Fishman, z"l, a prominent Boyaner chossid from Boro Park. He was 91 years of age.

The niftar was born to his father, Reb Chaim Dovid Elimelech, and his mother, Rivka Leah Fishman in Yerushalayim of yore. He learned in Yeshivas Chayei Olam as a child, and was surrounded by exalted Yidden from Yerushalayim of yore.

Around 1950, the family moved to America, and established themselves as an important Torah family in America, always remaining tethered and connected to Yerushalayim of their youth.

They were extremely close to the previous Boyaner Rebbe whose court was on the Lower East Side, and in the semicha that Rav Aryeh Mordechai attained from Rav Moshe Feinstein, the godol hador attested that the Boyaner Rebbe praised his character.

Throughout the years in Boro Park, Reb Mordechai was a distinguished and esteemed personality in the Boyaner chassidus in New York, and a fountain of memories of Yerushalayim of yore and of Boyan of old.

Reb Mordechai leaves behind beautiful Torah generations, and a beautiful legacy.

The levaya will take place in front of the Boyaner Kloiz at 10:00 this morning.

Yehi zichro baruch.
