BDE: Reb Pinchos Weinberger, Longtime Proprietor of 'Touch of Spirit'

YS GOLD

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Pinchos Weinberger, an icon in the Boro Park community. He was 87 years of age, and passed away Tuesday evening.

The niftar was born to his father, Reb Moshe Dov Weinberger, in the town of Makava.

He was fortunate to survive the war as a young boy, and came to America, where he would establish a beautiful Torah family.

Boro Park residents will recall the niftar from his wine establishment on 16th Avenue and 48th Street called Touch of Spirit. It seemed that he was always there, whether there were customers or not. In later years, he brought in a rocking chair, where he would sit for many hours in the day.

He was a beloved figure for so many in the neighborhood, and his presence will be sorely missed.

The niftar leaves behind beautiful Torah generations, including his son-in-law Reb Yechezkel Kauftheil, a legendary Boro Park philanthropist.

The levaya will take place this morning at Beis Chaim Yehoshua, where the niftar davened for many years, at 9:45 a.m.

He will be interred in the new Har Shulem Cemetery in Airmont.

Yehi zichro baruch.
