BDE: Reb Yosef Weiss, z”l, London-Boro Park
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Reb Yosef Weiss, a native of Bnei Brak who resided in London, and spent many years in the Boro Park community, where he became endeared to the many who knew him.
He was 79 years of age, and suffered from illness for a number of years.
The niftar raised his family in London, where he worked for the Keddasia Kashrus agency for many years.
When he began suffering from a lung illness, he came to America for treatment, and spent a number of years in Cleveland in pursuit of a refuah. “He was mekabel yisurim b’ahavah,” recalls Rav Leibish Frand, Marah d’Asrah of Khal Radomsk, who remembered the niftar both from his childhood in London, as well as from the hours that he would spend immersed in learning at the shul, despite his suffering.
He loved learning and speaking in learning with many people from the neighborhood.
Over Shabbos, Reb Yosef succumbed to his illness, leaving behind a legacy of serving Hashem despite his suffering, and of children who are renowned talmidei chachomim and ovdei Hashem.
The levaya will take place this morning outside his home, 1418 44th Street, at 10:00, from where the Aron will be taken to Eretz Yisroel .
