Boro Park Facing Heat Wave and Air Quality Alert Today
By Y.M. Lowy
It’s one of those days where just stepping outside feels like walking into a wall of heat. Boro Park is under a heat advisory until tomorrow night, and things aren’t cooling off anytime soon.
Temperatures today are expected to reach the upper 80s, possibly hitting 90, but with the humidity it’ll feel closer to 100. The air is thick and heavy, and it’s not just the heat that’s the concern. An air quality alert is also in effect from 11 in the morning until 11 at night, with pollution levels climbing high enough to cause discomfort. People with asthma, heart conditions, or any sensitivities should take it easy and try to stay inside.
Tomorrow looks even tougher. The heat will be stronger and the humidity worse.
If you can, stay indoors during the peak heat, drink plenty of water, and check in on anyone who might have it hard today.
