Boro Parker Shares Their Experience At Mar-A-Lago On Election Night
By Idy Perl
Trump’s election watch party was held at Mar-A-Lago yesterday with hundreds of politicians, advisors, journalists, and community leaders in attendance. Among the crowd several yarmulkas were spotted, and more than a couple of “am yisroel chai’s” were heard.
BoroPark24 spoke with a local resident, Chaya Katz, the wife of Rabbi David Katz, who was in attendance last night, to hear what went down on the figurative front lines of the election.
The night started at around 7PM, before most of the polls were closed and there was no way of knowing yet how the night would go. The air was thick with tension and there was a palpable nervous energy in the room.
Mrs. Katz recounts that as they stepped into the room, someone came up to her and asked if Orthodox Jews were voting for Trump, and was visibly surprised and impressed when they heard that roughly 90% of all Orthodox Jews were supporting Trump.
As the night went on there was a lot of excited screaming and yelling from the crowd as the numbers from various states started coming in.
The Katzes sat near members of Republican Jewish Coalition, who are some of the biggest financial donors and supporters of Trump. They discussed the things a Trump administration would bring to America, and how Trump would be able to practically implement many of his policies, such as closing the border and deporting illegal immigrants.
They spoke about the hostages that are still being held in Gaza by Hamas, and about the sharp remarks Trump delivered around a month ago, which called for the hostages to be released before he even gets into office. (As of this morning, once Trump was announced as the winner, the Houthis have already started retreating.)
At around 8:30PM the Katzes left the main room, which had around 500 attendees, and went into a VIP room that held around 100 people, including various governors, senators, and former ambassadors, who were all mingling and talking as the polls continued coming in. At around 11PM, when Trump started leading in Pennsylvania, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and positivity.
At 12AM it was confirmed that Trump was going to be making an appearance together with his family and J.D. Vance. He ended up coming into the main room at around 2AM and delivered a heartfelt speech thanking his family and the American people. The crowd was cheering and going wild, with people hugging strangers standing next to them.
During his speech Trump mentioned the many people who told him that G-d saved his life, not once but twice, because he still has many things to accomplish.
Mrs. Katz recounts that there was a lot of talk about G-d, and people from various different religions were thanking G-d and calling Trump’s win a miracle, especially since he won both the electoral and the popular vote, which was extremely unexpected.
At around 3AM Trump finished speaking and people started filing out, relieved and grateful that Trump had won the election.
