Brooklyn Internet Cafe Patrons Robbed by Two Armed Assailants

BoroPark24 Staff

Two armed men and a pair of accomplices robbed several customers at an internet cafe in Brooklyn around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, according to police and surveillance video.

The cafe is located on 59th Street in Sunset Park. The thieves helped themselves to $200 from the register and stole five cell phones from customers. One suspect had a gun, and another a knife, both of which were pulled to threaten the employee and six patrons.

The NYPD released a video showing a gunman in a hoodie and sunglasses with his weapon pointed at the register while an accomplice removed the cash. Another robber was seen in the footage pocketing phones from customers before the thieves left.

The suspects, still at large, took off toward Ninth Avenue before getting into a car.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the thieves.

The four individuals being sought are described as males with medium complexions and thin builds, all last seen wearing hooded jackets.

Anyone with information should call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/ or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
