Century-Old Boro Park Home Set for Demolition as Neighborhood Landscape Continues to Evolve
Another piece of Boro Park's early history is preparing to make way for the neighborhood's next chapter.
The home on 45th Street between 13th and 14th Avenues, originally built in 1919, has been fully fenced off ahead of demolition. While demolition preparations are underway, no permits for a new building have yet been filed online, leaving it unclear what will eventually replace the structure.
The property is the latest example of the ongoing transformation taking place throughout Boro Park, where many of the neighborhood's century-old homes are gradually being replaced by larger residential developments to accommodate the area's continued growth.
