Chaveirim Fixes More Than Flats, Preventing Future Blow-Outs

M.C. Millman

After receiving more than fifty calls over the last week from drivers suffering flat tires at the same location at Church Avenue and East 5th Street, Chaveirim provided its own creative solution, allowing the organization to live up to its mission of helping the Klal.

Chaveirim members tell BoroPark 24 that the location has been a problem for years, but the situation worsened over the past few weeks.

Given that Chaveirim has been trying for years to get the assistance of various departments and government officials to solve the situation, the organization reached out to the Department of Transportation one last time. When there was still no action taken to prevent the danger, inconvenience, and expense of the constant flat tires, Chaveirim realized it was time, after more than ten years of patience, to take matters into its own hands.

Chaveirim purchased and installed city-grade reflective cones along the curb three days ago. There have been no reports of flat tires since the installation.

"As a resident from Boro Park constantly passing that intersection," Mordechai B., a resident, shares with BoroPark 24, "I feel relieved that we have some selfless volunteers from Chaveirim who would go out of their way to purchase and install these reflecting cones. This job is made for the NYC DOT, but obviously, Chaveirim's response time is faster."

As far as Chaveirim is concerned - mission accomplished.
