City Debuts Electric Bus Yesterday
YS Gold
The first of 430 electric standard buses entered service yesterday. This is part of Phase One of the rollout of electric buses around the City.
The electric buses will make their way to depots around the City and will expand to the entire fleet of the MTA over the coming years.
Among the bus depots that are part of this program is the Jackie Gleason Depot, located on 5th Avenue on the outskirts of Boro Park, servicing the B11 and B16 lines that make their way through Boro Park.
The MTA rolled out its transition plan to emissions-free buses back in 2022.
