Emergency crews responded to the scene as police temporarily blocked part of 8th Avenue during the investigation.</p><p>Officials said the victim was transported to Maimonides Medical Center with serious injuries.</p><p>Investigators have not yet released details on what type of vehicle struck the pedestrian or what led up to the crash.
