Final Preparations for Massive Chibas Yerushalayim Dinner in Williamsburg

Moztei Shabbos will bring together thousands of Yidden from the Williamsburg area for the annual dinner benefitting Kolel Chibas Yerushalayim of Rabi Meir Ba’al Haness, through which Yidden from Poland and Galicia have traditionally supported their brethren in Eretz Yisroel for centuries.

It will take place in the Continental Hall.

In advance of this momentous evening of tradition, the gabo’im of the Kolel—dedicated yungeleit who have likewise grown up on this tradition of supporting the poor and the needy of Eretz Yisroel—gathered earlier this week to ensure the success of the evening.

The needs of the Yidden in Eretz Yisroel are as dire as ever, and the Kolel supports thousands of families.

An interesting feature of this year’s dinner will be the auctioning of the zechus to bentch using the becher of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Aside from having served as the Nasi of the Kolel, the Divrei Chaim was known not to leave a penny in his pocket overnight, giving everything away to his fellow Yidden in need.

It is thus appropriate for this evening which is all about continuing his holy legacy through this venerated institution that he so valiantly led.
