Hochul Announces Child Credit In Time For Back-To-School Season

Families in New York who qualified for the Empire State Child Credit on their 2023 taxes will be seeing the money from the program very soon. 

More than 1 million qualifying families will begin receiving checks in the mail of up to $330, on a sliding scale based on their income. The state will spend a total of over $350 million on this financial assistance program.

“With this check, this is how parents will be able to cover the cost of back-to-school supplies,” Hochul said. “That's why I'm so proud of this. No other governor, and the other state Legislature in the history of this great state has distributed this much direct financial assistance.”
