Installing Green Infrastructure at 47th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway

By BoroPark24 Staff

Today crews were spotted installing Green Infrastructure at 47th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway.

This comes just a week after officials from the Department of Design and Construction and the Department of Environmental Protection celebrated the construction for the new Green Infrastructure project at 12th Ave and 37th Street.

As the street is closed, it remains accessible to local residents and emergency service vehicles, given the proximity of Maimonides Hospital.

As previously reported here, the $34 million Green Infrastructure project will bring porous pavement to several Boro Park Streets, allowing rain to drain through it to a sand layer underneath the road.

The installation of the pavement will be taking place in Boro Park for the next 14 months.
