An assessment written by the New York State Intelligence Center, shares new intelligence pointing to the possibility of targeted terror attacks aimed at New York and specifically New York City in the aftermath of the brutal October 7 attack.

The possibility of increased attacks has resulted in additional security in New York and increased staffing of the Joint Terrorism Task Force to the tune of $2.5 million.

The $2.5 million from New York State will be used to add additional State Police investigators to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force in New York City, Buffalo, Albany, and Rochester.

"I am working hard at the state level with the control I have," said Hochul yesterday, according to CBS. "I'll be talking about this tomorrow, about exactly what we're doing, and how many online threats we've uncovered, how many have been investigated, what the outcome is."

Tracked chatter on terrorist messaging has focused on attacking 'soft targets' such as protests, group gatherings, and other public events," according to the report. Participants in the chatter include homegrown violent extremists under the tutelage of foreign terrorist organizations but also domestic violent extremists targeting Jewish communities.

BoroPark24 reached out to the FBI for further details. The FBI replied with the following. "FBI New York is working closely with our law enforcement partners to share information and identify and disrupt any threats that may emerge in our communities. To report information in New York, contact FBI New York at 212-384-1000 or submit a tip to tips.fbi.gov or 1-800-CALL FBI."
