By: Boropark24 staff

Shortly after 4:00 a.m. this morning, a moped driver ran a red light, colliding full-force into a Honda Accord. The impact left him in critical condition.

An NYPD detective who responded to the scene told Boropark24, “the 23-year-old male was driving eastbound on 54th street, ran a red light at Fort Hamilton Parkway, and ‘T-boned’ a Honda Accord.

“The driver of the moped was not wearing a helmet, and as a result, sustained severe head injuries. He was taken to Maimonides Hospital in critical condition, but he’s expected to make it.

“The driver of the Honda stayed on scene, and no criminality is suspected,” he said.
