Mosquito Spraying Scheduled in Brooklyn

Mosquito season is in full swing, and while these pests are a nuisance, they can also carry disease. Even a small amount of standing water, as little as a bottle cap, is enough for mosquitoes to lay eggs.

City health officials remind homeowners to remove any standing water from their property, including turning over wading pools when not in use and clearing out gutters regularly so water can flow properly.

The city will be conducting aerial mosquito larviciding in select areas of Brooklyn and Queens from Tuesday, July 29, through Thursday, July 31. In Brooklyn, spraying is only scheduled for Marine Park and Fresh Creek Basin. The Bronx and Staten Island are also on the schedule during this time.

As of now, there are no publicized plans to spray in Boro Park. BoroPark24 will keep you updated if that changes.
