By Y.M. Lowy
As BoroPark24 previously reported, the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge is set for a major cable rehabilitation project aimed at keeping the span in good shape for years to come.
On Wednesday, the MTA board approved a $249 million contract for the work, which includes a new dehumidification system for the bridge’s four main suspension cables.
The project is expected to take about four years, though it’s not yet clear when construction will begin.
