New BPJCC Community Center Coming to 13th Avenue

By Y.M. Lowy

The BPJCC has announced plans for a major new community center in the heart of Boro Park, on 13th Avenue between 51st and 52nd Street, right next door to the Metropolitan Commercial Bank. At 5,000 square feet and fully walk-in level, the space is designed to meet the growing needs of the Boro Park community that has seen rapid growth and increasing demand for services.

For decades, the BPJCC has been at the forefront of supporting the Boro Park community, with over 20 staff members at its current location at 1310 46th Street, helping locals navigate everything from job placement and immigration services to programs like SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, SSI and Holocaust survivor support, amongst many other vital services.  BPJCC’s current location will remain open and continue operating as usual. The new center is an expansion created to offer more space, more programs, and a venue to host vital community gatherings.

Plans include an expanded workforce program that will offer free classes in areas like graphic design, QuickBooks, marketing, e-commerce, and computer classes, among many other courses. This new location will also include rooms for therapy, support groups, parenting workshops, and business guidance. Many other neighborhoods already have such resources. Now, Boro Park will too. The goal is to help people entering the workplace learn skills to find a dignified parnasah in a heimish environment.

But it doesn’t stop there. The new BPJCC Community Center will host large neighborhood and town-hall meetings. Boro Park will now finally have a proper place for askanim, elected officials, and policymakers to meet.

The new location is ADA-compliant, centrally located, and open to all. Construction is set to finish shortly, and the first class is already planned for the beginning of the summer.

“Our goal in this space is to expand all our services, and well beyond that, to include much-needed areas for community gatherings and support,” said Avi Greenstein, CEO of BPJCC, to BoroPark24. “When people come to us for help, it should be offered with the utmost dignity, and that’s exactly what our current state-of-the-art office provides. This new expansion will take that mission to the next level.”

“This is truly a gem for the entire Boro Park community,” he added. “It’s not just about services, it’s about building a space that uplifts, empowers, and brings people together with respect and care. This is the community’s room, a place that belongs to everyone.”

It’s the beginning of a new chapter for the BPJCC, and a big improvement for Boro Park.
