Powerball Jackpot surges to $610 Million

After no one claimed the prize in Monday night’s drawing the jackpot increased to a whopping $610 million, the seventh-largest number ever.

A Frum Jew Attacked in Williamsburg 

A frum Jew was chased and struck in the head with an unknown object by two men who are now being sought by the NYPD, the NY Post reports.

The attack took place near 51 Bartlett St. in Williamsburg where the 26-year-old was attacked and significantly injured on his head. 

The incident is under investigation by the police as a possible hate crime.

Hundreds of drivers stuck on Virginia I-95 in Snowstorm Traffic Jam

Hundreds of people were trapped overnight in a 48 miles traffic jam on Interstate 95 in Virginia following a crash that involved six tractor-trailers this Monday. 

Hours passed as authorities worked to clear the traffic, with hundreds of motorists posting increasingly desperate messages on social media about running out of fuel, food, and water.

After 24 hours of standstill, traffic is slowly moving again and the National Guard is on standby to potentially assist. 

Grafton Thomas, Accused of Fatal Attack in Monsey, May Transfer to NY Mental Facility 

Two years after the attack on Chanukah, in Monsey, the man accused of the assault may come back to New York for confinement in a mental facility.

Josef Neumann, 72 died in the attack and five other men were injured.  

Grafton Thomas has consistently been found mentally unfit to stand trial and is being held in a Missouri mental-health facility, according to federal court documents. 

Thomas' lawyer has been advocating for him to be committed to a mental-health treatment facility near his family in Orange County.

"The Government has not yet received the writ, but intends to approve it upon receipt," U.S. Attorney Damian Williams for New York's Southern District said in court papers.
