NYC’s Dry Spell Officially Ends

By Idy Perl
Local officials were issuing drought warnings yesterday and expressing their concerns over the NYC’s lack of rain, but their fears were (sort of) put to rest today.
After 29 consecutive days without measurable rain, Central Park got 0.01" of rain this afternoon, officially ending the dry streak. Although its barely a significant amount of rain, its enough to be considered as the end of the dry streak.
Before this afternoon and with just three days left until the end of the month, October was on its way to being on record as the first entire month without any measurable rain.
