NYC Sanitation Replaces Upcoming Missed Pick-Ups

NYC Sanitation Replaces Upcoming Missed Pick-Ups

With national holidays coming up for the two weekends in a row, residents who normally get their trash, recycling, and compost collected on Shabbos, can expect pickups, instead on the next two Sundays, said the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY).

Residents who receive pickups on Fridays, however, can expect their garbage collections to proceed, as usual.

Only snowstorms on the next two Fridays, the DSNY said, would slow down trash pick-ups on those days.

Residents who normally receive Shabbos garbage collections may place their materials out at curbsides on the next two Sundays: between 4 pm and midnight, for make-up collections that will take place on the next two Mondays.

“Residents may experience collection delays, as is common after holidays,” the DSNY said. “We appreciate patience as we work to collect the backlog of material.”
