NYC Water Warns That Drought Warning Is Still In Effect
By Idy Perl
Despite the recent rain and snow that have fallen in New York, NYC Water is warning residents that the drought is not yet over.
Water levels at local reservoirs are still 20% below standard, and it will take more rain to get it back to normal. Since NYC was without rain for more than a month, several inches of rainfall are needed to make up for lost time.
NYC Water is encouraging residents to continue with their water conservation efforts, such as not letting a sink run unnecessarily or taking quicker showers, until New York is officially in the clear.
