NYPD Vehicle Rams into Pole in Brooklyn Crash

An NYPD vehicle burst into flames Sunday night, when a female driver slammed into the police car sending it crashing into a pole, cops said.

The two officers were on their way to a call, with their sirens on, around 10:40 pm, when the 39-year-old woman collided with their vehicle on 65th Street and 8th Ave before fleeing the scene. 

Luckily, the officers sustained only minor injuries and were taken to NYU Langone Hospital. 

The BMW driver, identified as Jianzhen Yang, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
