Photo Gallery: Bobov’er Yeshiva Students Celebrate Joyous Hachnasas Sefer Torah

Talmidim at the Bobov Yeshiva on 36th Street participated in a momentous Hachnasas Sefer Torah celebration on Monday, as the family of Reb Leibel Rubin a”h donated a Sefer Torah to be used in the yeshiva’s Beis HaMedrash. The yeshiva building, Binyan Leibel Rubin, was named in his honor.

Reb Leibel a”h, whose yahrtzeit falls on Tuesday, Asarah B’Teves, was a staunch supporter of Bobov mosdos worldwide. He generously contributed toward the construction of the current 36th Street yeshiva building, which was completed nearly two years ago.

The celebration was especially meaningful for the talmidim, as the Bobov’er Rebbe shlit”a personally participated and led the procession of the Sefer Torah as it entered the building. Thousands of children erupted in song and dance, celebrating the special simcha.

Following the dancing and l’chaim, the Rebbe shlit”a spent over an hour personally distributing cake to all the talmidim. This was at the Rebbe’s request, expressing his desire to spend time with the children as they marked the occasion of the new Sefer Torah being dedicated to their yeshiva.
