Pickpocket Steals Wallet From 70-Year-Old Shopper on 8th Avenue

A 70-year-old woman was the victim of a grand larceny incident while shopping on 8th Avenue in Boro Park.

The incident happened at 2:21 p.m. inside a store located at 5706 8th Avenue. According to police, an unidentified woman approached the victim from behind and removed a wallet from her purse. The wallet contained credit cards and approximately $230 in cash.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on 8th Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Police describe the suspect as a light-complexioned woman who was last seen wearing a black jacket, a red scarf, and a white hat. Images of the individual have been released by police as part of the investigation.
