Police Ask for Help Identifying Suspect in Boro Park Child Robbery

The NYPD released the following information asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect following an incident that took place in Boro Park involving a young child.
Police say the incident happened on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at around 5:52 p.m., in front of 1534 42nd Street. A 10-year-old boy was walking when an unknown individual approached him, grabbed him by the arm, and took money that the suspect thought was real, which later turned out to be imitation play money, causing a traumatic incident for the child.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on 42nd Street. Police say the child was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a male who was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, a black hat, and black sneakers. Surveillance images of the suspect have been released.
