Rachmastrivka Rebbe to Lead Tish on First Night of Chanukah
Six months after he became critically ill from a stubborn virus, the Rachmastrivka Rebbe shlita is getting progressively better and will lead a tish Sunday night to mark the first night of Chanukah.
The Rebbe is scheduled to enter his beis medrash on 12th Avenue and 45th Street at 8:30, with the doors opening a half hour earlier. Thousands of men are expected to join the Rebbe in expressing thanks to Hashem for his return to his kehilla.
The Rebbe, a son of Rav Yochonon Twersky zt"l, the Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Yerushalayim, and a son-in-law of the previous Skvere Rebbe zt"l, Rav Yaakov Yosef Twersky, is the elder Rebbe in Boro Park and is universally respected. Thousands stormed the heavens before Pesach when word of his illness became known, davening for Chai Yitzchok ben Esther Rivka.
The Rebbe, who had been hospitalized in the Cleveland Clinic, made his first public appearance on Sukkos. Since then, he has attended several chasunas of his descendants, as well as the yahrtzeit of his father last week.
