Reader’s Write: Blocked Sidewalks Are a Daily Struggle
Dear Editor,
As a driver, I get it - finding parking in the neighborhood can be tough, especially with all the snow. But walking down our streets and seeing corner after corner blocked by cars is impossible to understand. Who is supposed to navigate these obstacles? A woman with a stroller? An elderly neighbor? Or just someone trying to get to work without stepping into snow and ending up with soaking shoes for the day?
It’s frustrating that so little thought seems to go into keeping walkways clear. The city pushes snow off the streets, but if corners remain blocked, pedestrians are left to fend for themselves. This is unsafe and unfair.
We all share these streets. Drivers, please consider those walking around you. Keep corners accessible so everyone can get through safely without unnecessary obstacles.
