Road Work Scheduled For Purim Gets Cancelled After Community Outrage

By Idy Perl

Yesterday, a No Parking Zone flier on 51st Street sparked outrage in Boro Park when residents found out that there would be road work taking place on Purim.

The notice came shortly after the DOT vowed to clear all road work and street closures for Purim so that traffic can flow easily on the busy day. Community liaison Pinny Ringel was immediately in contact with the city to try and work it out.

This morning, much to the relief of all local residents, Community Board 12 let residents know that the road work has been canceled and will not be taking place on Purim.
