One Child Dead in Crash on NY-17

Wurstboro - A child is dead and several others injured when a car driving on the NY-17 crashed and flipped over on Friday afternoon.

 

The accident, which happened near exit 116, which is near Bloomingburg in Sullivan County, resulted in at least three people injured aside for the fatality. The car burst into flames as it crashed.

 

Hatzolah and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and treated the victims. A chopper was called for the more severely hurt.

 

The road in the area was closed, leading to a traffic backup. Those traveling upstate for Shabbos should take precautions.

 

Chesed Shel Emes and Misaskim services were not required.
