Shtramel Thief Apprehended

This Shabbos afternoon, a Chasidish Boro Park resident was walking in the neighborhood of 11th Avenue and 53rd Street when a motorcycle rider zipped past and grabbed off his shtreimel in passing. 

The Yingerman's yarmulka fell off as well in the incident. 

By this morning, the NYPD announced that they would be investigating the incident as a hate crime.

After 24 hours of intensive work by the NYPD, together with Shomrim, the thief was arrested, and the shtreimel returned to its owner, who was pleased not only to have his shtreimel back but also to see the delinquent in handcuffs.
