Suspect in Attempted Assault Arrested by NYPD

As boropark24 reported last week, a girl was knocked to the ground by a male suspect in the vicnity of 18th Avenue and 60th street. The victim courageously faught him off, and he fled the scene. He subsequently committed a separate assault on the F train.

The NYPD Special Victims Unit has been investigating this event.

Tonight they announced that the suspect is in custody. He has been identified as Tomas Chamil, age 28, a resident of Midwood. 

The arrest comes after much work by detectives of the 66th Precinct and the Brooklyn Special Victims Unit-with much assistance by Shmira- leaving our streets just a bit safer this evening.
