Talmidim of Yeshiva Sha’ar Hamelech will Inaugurate Sefer Torah L’iluy Nishmas Chaim Blum, z”l
When Reb Chaim Blum was tragically niftar on Erev Pesach of this year, his countless friends were shellshocked and thrust into mourning for an individual who was so full of life, and so beloved by all of them.
“We all felt we must do things to commemorate his special memory,” related one friend behind a hachnosas sefer Torah initiative in the memory of the niftar.
Yeshiva Sha’ar Hamelech, Chaim, z”l’s, alma matter, has a minyan of about 70 alumni who daven together in the Dzikover Beis medrash on 51st Street, keeping alive the memory of their yeshiva days together. Chaim, z”l, was among the prominent mispalelim, and stood out from among his peers, recall his friends, and thus, a sefer Torah was purchased by all of them, and will be inaugurated to their minyan Today, Rosh Chodesh Sivan.
The procession will go out from the home of Reb Yehoshua Hammerman, a grandfather of Chaim, and will proceed to the Dzikover shul.
Chaim’s friends explain that this event is one of many initiatives that they undertook in Chaim’s memory, keeping alive the flame of friendship that has endured with them for so many years, and will never depart their hearts.
