(TF)
January 11, 1964, was when the first doctor linked smoking
to lung cancer.
Surgeon General Luther Terry MD made this bold announcement to a room full
of reporters, sending a plea to the government to do something about it.
It took many years for the health department to take action.
Only in 2017 was smoking finally banned in indoor public places.
Until today many struggle to curb this hazardous habit.
