TOMORROW Afternoon and Evening: Special “Nittel-Nacht” Blood Drive in Bobov

TOMORROW Afternoon and Evening: Special “Nittel-Nacht” Blood Drive in Bobov

Thursday, January 6, marks the so-called “Russian nittel,” when it is the minhag of chassidim of Russian origin—as well as those hailing from the Sanzer dynasty, to observe nittel—with no learning either from midday, or from sunset, varying according minhag of each community.

Utilizing these hours when yeshiva bachurim, or yungeleit who have evening learning sedorim, will have free time on their hands, Pesha Elias Bikur Cholim of Bobov, in partnership with Maimonides Hospital, will be holding a blood drive in the basement of the Bobover Shul on 48th Street.

This comes at a time when the blood supply at the hospital remains critically low.

The drive will take place from 12:00 noon-9:00 in the evening.

Lunch and dinner will be served in the afternoon and evening, and these sponsoring organizations encourage the community to donate this vital, lifesaving resource.
