Two Children Seriously Injured After Illegal Fireworks Explode in Boro Park

Two children were seriously injured when illegal fireworks exploded at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 57th Street in Boro Park.

The fireworks, set off by a group of youngsters, resulted in one child suffering a severe hand injury and the other sustaining a head injury.

Emergency crews from EMS, NYPD, and Hatzolah rushed to the scene and began treatment immediately. The NYPD Bomb Squad is now investigating the incident and examining the type of explosives involved.

Officials are once again warning of the dangers of illegal fireworks, which can cause devastating injuries and are strictly prohibited.
