Walgreens on 18th Ave Closes Its Doors Today

The Walgreens shop at 18th Avenue corner 61st Street is closing its doors today, adding to a list of Walgreens that have closed shop across the nation.

The retail giant announced in 2019 plans to close around 200 U.S. stores to cut its annual cost, but many stores have recently been shut due to retail theft, and other factors.

In a sign posted at the entrance, the pharmacy giant said that prescription records available at all Walgreen locations.

The company previously told QNS that it is shutting a location in the Bayside area because of “a number of factors… including dynamics of the local market and changing buying habits of our customers.”
