Weekly Weather: A blast of chilly air over Yom Tov

In time for birchas geshem, Shmini Atzeres will see rain on and off first few hours of the day. It will break in the early noon hours, only to return with possibly more showers in the afternoon and evening. 

Following the rain, a cold front comes in and it turns very chilly thanks to a polar cold front that will cool down most of the United States. We will see temperatures in the mid 50's for NYC during the daytime, and high 40's at night. Tuesday night will turn even colder 

Following Yom Tov, we get a stretch of no rain, and a slow gradual warming through the end of the week--but temps will remain below average for this time of year
